ICG actively promotes projects that combine day care and educational facilities.

More and more municipalities are beginning to realize the advantages of such combined facilities. State education officials have also begun to take the lead by strongly endorsing (and even funding) the creation of day care facilities physically located on public elementary school sites. ICG’s component company, WCR, has designed and built over a dozen such facilities – several of which are profiled in the following sections. ICG has submitted several proposals to Cities and School Districts located within such cities proposing such joint / combined facilities. One such proposal involves also a community library in addition to the day care facility.

Within the ICG corporate framework, three ICG individuals focus almost entirely on structuring such joint / combined projects:

Bruce Pope specializes in structuring joint public / private partnership transactions of this nature. He is especially knowledgeable in such matters -- having served for some time as the Director of the Redevelopment Agency for the City and County of Sacramento.

Gaspar Garcia was a consultant to the Department of Education responsible for managing much of the funding for child day care throughout the state.
